Getting Approved for a Medical Marijuana Card in The Villages
The first step to getting approved for a medical marijuana recommendation is scheduling an appointment with a certified Florida medical marijuana doctor. Scheduling is easy—simply visit DocMJ.com or call (888) 908.0143 to schedule your appointment over the phone with a DocMJ Patient Care Coordinator. Our office in The Villages is located near Trulieve at:
Oakland Hills Professional Center
13940 US-441 #902
The Villages, FL 32159
Our office staff can also be reached by email at email@example.com or by using the Live Chat option on our website. To chat with someone from our office, click the ‘Send message’ located at the bottom right corner of our website. Our Patient Care Coordinators are available to provide assistance Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM and Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Please be aware that our administrative office is closed on Sundays. If you are unable to reach us by phone, leave a message and your call will be returned within 24 business hours.
After your exam has been scheduled you will receive an email with your appointment date and time, as well as an email containing a set of electronic intake forms. We do require that these forms be filled out at least 24 hours prior to your appointment, otherwise you may be assessed a fee and your appointment cancelled. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment for any reason, you can do so online through the DocMJ Patient Portal. Please see our full Billing Policy prior to cancelling or rescheduling.
You will be required to provide medical records either before or during your appointment with your Florida medical marijuana doctor. We recommend uploading a copy of your records to your intake forms and bringing a physical copy with you to your appointment. If you do not have access to your medical records, our records department will be happy to request them for you. We cannot accept records that have been uploaded to a disc or flash drive. Please be sure to bring your Florida drivers license or State ID card with you to your appointment.
Before you see your physician, the Medical Assistant will conduct a basic physical examination by checking your weight, temperature, heart rate and blood pressure. Your physician will then review your medical history and intake forms, and will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding your condition and medical marijuana. If it is determined that you may benefit from a medical marijuana recommendation, your physician will enter you into the Florida Medical Marijuana Use Registry. Once entered into the MMU Registry you will receive an email from the Florida Department of Health Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU) with detailed instructions on how to complete your application and how to pay the $75 fee. Please allow 7-21 business days for the OMMU to process your application and payment. Once your application and payment have been processed, you will receive an email containing a temporary Registry ID Card that can be used to purchase products at any Florida medical marijuana dispensary. If you have any questions or concerns regarding that status of your application or payment, you can contact the OMMU at (800) 808.9580 or firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
