DocMJ is committed to providing high quality medical treatment to the patients who come to us seeking relief from their suffering. Since our founding in 2016, we have never wavered from this commitment and will not today.
Governor DeSantis signed Senate Bill 182 into law on March 18th. The bill allows qualified physicians to determine if smoking is an appropriate route of administration for medical marijuana. We are thrilled to have another legal route of administration available so that appropriate patients may experience the maximum benefits medical marijuana has to offer.
For current DocMJ patients, who have been seen in the last 7 months, you are eligible to be seen by a physician to determine if smoking medical marijuana is right for you, for a small administrative fee. The administrative fee for this visit is only $25. Please note, this visit will not renew your 7-month medical marijuana recommendation. If your 7-month recommendation period is coming to an end soon, please consider waiting to add smoking medical marijuana until your next appointment. If you were seen in the last 7-months and would like to be evaluated for smoking medical marijuana, without extending your 7-month recommendation period, please call our office to schedule an appointment. For all other appointments, please visit www.DocMJ.com.
Every patient is different. Not all patients will benefit from smoking full flower, and in some cases, smoking full flower may be harmful. Therefore, in order for our physicians to fulfill their commitment to their patients, legal obligations, and to consider each individual patient’s medical needs, patients will need to schedule an appointment to be evaluated to determine if the benefits of smoking marijuana for medical use outweigh the risks. We are aware that other physicians are taking a different view on this issue and respect our colleague’s opinions. However, at this time, DocMJ is choosing to practice medicine in a manner consistent with our goals and values and requiring an appointment to make certain smokable marijuana is right for our patients.
On behalf of the physicians and staff at DocMJ, thank you for being our patient and for trusting us with your health.
Considering the price of bud at Trulieve I will not be paying the extra $25 cost. I can get chronic ‘ponic for less.
Please call me I have questions

Thank you I am so tired of taking pills to alleviate my pain I’ve been an advocate of cannabis since 1970
What do you have to do to get the medical card to get medical cannabis
Truleive is offering a $25 discount for paying the fee!!!!!
The actual issue for everyone is the cut over delay as dispensaries stopped making the flower pods when the vote allowed smokeable flower. They should have kept manufacturing them for awhile longer during the time it takes to have all 250,000 patients go back to their doctor( to get one line added in the comments line of patients computer record that smokeable flower is allowed.) That is alot of patients at once. The republicans did that on purpose, instead of just allowing it under inhaled. Remember to vote democratic in the next election. It is not over, people! The legislature is in session until the end of the month. Call them. They took away from sick patients under 18 with strict requirement, and will take away the flower also with the 10% rule. There is no 10% flower.
I’m trying to figure out how and where is the best place for me to get both my card and my products. You sound like you have already been doing this and I could use your advice
Hi there Dr. MJ has been so good at doing their updates when your time is due thanks again and everybody enjoy
Im getting confused. Do you have to pay $169 every 7 months?
Yes. Every 7 months, you pay $169 for a follow-up appointment.
This is a good question. My primary care physician told me to get medical marijuana. I am on a fixed income (Social Security) and have to be so careful. Is this an expensive endevour? The marijuana could really help me medically. Thank you for your help!
I’m going through the exact same thing I hope we can get good advice and not be taken advantage of
Your state ID is good for a year. So if you have enough product to last the other 5 months then you don’t need to go every 7 months. I get 14000mgs per category each script… more than enough to last me. I’m on my first renewal…and begun to stagger the doc appt with the card fee, which is easier on my wallet.
As a Doc MJ patient I would like to thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to your patients. You have been more than generous with this special pricing!!! I will Continue to be a patient and will send anyone that needs medical marijuana to your group of doctors!!
Thank you DOC MJ for the time you spend keeping us informed and doing the right thing. As a new patient I totally appreciate and understand all you do to look out for the well being of your patients and your practices. I thank you and I am sorry you have had to have all the negative things people have said..
Thank you Doc MJ .
Want to get appointment, how do I get one
Thank you for all you information. I like Docmj and will continue to stay with them. I’m very interested in the smokeable cannibis. God bless
How much did it cost you
If you wait until your next appointment, it’s no additional charge to get the smokable. If you want to do it before then, it is $25.
Like to make appt. for smokable marijuana. Be calling for two days.call me727-726-2719.
I’ve called multiple times. I’ve left my contact information but have yet too receive a call back. In fact, nobody has answered the phone in 3 days.
Same here
wanting to see about adding smokable marijuana have tried to book with no luck
Same here, I can’t be seen until sometime in May!!!! I don’t get why an existing patient needs to see a doctor when all that is required is signing a waiver.
It is the law, the state said that you have to be seen and evaluated by the doctor in order to get it. Can’t really blame the docs for following the law.
Ask the government
No you can’t blame the docs for HAVING to follow it, but docs are consulted when the govt makes decisions like this. So we can blame THOSE doctors for giving the govt reason to think this extra bureaucracy is necessary.
ALSO, we can blame the state residents who voted for a gubernatorial candidate who claims to be pro-medical but had just added another roadblock for many med users. Obviously he did this because it benefits him or his party in at least one way. Can anyone find anything among his accomplishments that was done SOLELY FOR HIS CONSTITUENTS? Nope. Every single move he makes benefited/still benefits himself or his party. Hmmmm… Not gonna say it’s a party thing cuz there are reasonable and unreasonable ppl in every party. Just a thought to anyone who think it “just has to be this way” or “that’s the law, so nothing I can do about it”. If we all bothered to learn what we COULD do about it, we may have a lawmaker in power who is NOT already a millionaire. As we all have said for years, it’s about the green. (? not ?!!!)
I’ve tried a lot of different medications for my health issues and all of them have affected my life in negative ways such as bad thoughts, weight gain, loss of happiness and motivation, insomnia, increased anxiety and mood swings. I also almost died after having a reaction to a medication I was prescribed. My doctors at the place I currently visit treat me very unfairly and give me man-made medications that have ruined my life for the past 3 years. I am going to DocMJ soon and I am very excited about it! I am looking forward to finally getting off my meds and smoking professionally grown medical cannabis for my health issues. Marijuana should be legalized in all 50 states. It is better than any injection or pill and it doesn’t have harmful side effects. It would also put the black market out of business and allow patients to get their medicine from licensed professionals at a safe place. Once again, I am looking forward to my appointment at DocMJ! Thank you!
Went and seen doctor on Monday 5/13/19 for smokable how long does it take from Dr. to Dr. even though they both work for Dr. Mj?
So I just renewed my license 3
Weeks ago and added smokeable. Now with new law I have to go back again to continue my smokeable with flower?
As of July 12th, smoking recommendations are required to be entered as a separate tab in the Registry instead of being entered into the notes section by your physician. You do not have to be seen to be updated to the new format.
